As OKC Thunder fans file into the Paycom Center, some may hold their breath to see who is active. However, we now have the injury report for both sides in hand. While some regulars are missing, the main event of Victor Wembanyama facing off with Chet Holmgren is a go.
OKC Thunder and Chet Holmgren will officially match up with Victor Wembanyama on Monday to tip off the NBA preseason for both teams.
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced following Sunday’s training camp practice that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (rest) and Vasilije Micic (ankle) would be out for Monday’s tilt. Before Training Camp, Aleksej Pokusevski sustained an injury we knew would shelf him for the preseason. However, outside of those three players, it is all systems go for Mark Daigneault’s squad.
Following today’s shoot around at Paycom Center, the San Antonio Spurs announced Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan would each be out tonight. That leaves Victor Wembanyama listed as available and a sigh of relief for Thunder fans.
The OKC Thunder and their fans will be treated to a special matchup against the most hyped prospect since LeBron James in Victor Wembanyama. While no one is sure how many minutes Victor Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren, or any of the other regulars will play, just seeing them on the Paycom Center hardwood for a minute will be enough.
These two teams will play for real on November 14th, 2023, in the Paycom Center. That game will not only be a regular season game but also part of the new In-Season tournament. That tilt will be broadcast Nationwide on TNT.
