OKC Thunder back at the forefront of NBA universe
By Rylan Stiles
The OKC Thunder have been in the midst of a rebuild that the rest of the NBA has either dismissed or, worse, cast an iron fist to as If Sam Presti and the Thunder did something entirely out of the box that was damaging to the league. Some National Media went as far as to call it “The Black Eye of the League.”
Last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder shocked the NBA world by jumping up to win 40 games. That earned them a spot in the NBA Play-In tournament, where they went on the road to take on the New Orleans Pelicans and walked out of the Smoothie King Center with a win.
After falling on the road in Minnesota in the second play-in game, the Thunder fell a game shy of making the NBA Playoffs earlier than expected in this rebuild. Especially after the OKC Thunder missed their lone top-five pick on their roster, Chet Holmgren, for the entire season.
