The OKC Thunder will attempt and make more triples this season.

The OKC Thunder shoot a lot of threes. I think we will see an uptick this season; last year, the team attempted 34 threes per game, and this year, I believe that number will increase to 40 attempts per game. During the 2022-23 campaign, four teams launched 40 or more threes per game.

Because the team is going to be inserting Chet Holmgren into their offense, he will more than likely launch a three or two himself, but he will also be kicking it out to shooters, likely open ones, because defenses will be occupied with him.

The team also added Davis Bertans this summer via a trade, although he is not projected to play a large role for the OKC Thunder this season.

However, when he gets on the court, he will not only fill up the boxscore quickly from distance, but he will do so efficiently.

The Thunder placed 17th in 3-point percentage in 2022-23. However, they were only 1.2 percent behind the Milwaukee Bucks, who ranked 10th in 3-point percentage.

Leading into my next bold prediction, I believe the OKC Thunder will leap into the top 10 in three-point accuracy this year due to further development and additional opportunities for more wide-open shots becoming available.
