The OKC Thunder battled the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night on ESPN. This was the first game a game inside the Paycom Center has been played on National Television since the 2019-20 season. A return to the National Spotlight for this young Thunder core.

The game started out with a bang, as the Thunder were in control after the jump ball, eventually swelling their lead to 22 points before giving it away in the end.

OKC Thunder get away from their style of play, fall to the Pelicans despite big lead.

Losses are part of any team’s season. There will be tough, wild, and downright atrocious ones for any team in an 82-game stretch. This game was a tough one to swallow for the OKC Thunder.

In the fifth game of the season, OKC Thunder blew a 22-point lead and lost to the New Orleans Pelicans, 106-110, in a nationally televised game at home. The Thunder are 3-2 in the season as growing pains remain lurking for the youthful squad.

It was a roller-coaster kind of a game for the OKC Thunder. They led big in the first half and firmly had control of the game, but when the Pelicans started hitting their shots, it seemed like the entire game swung in their favor while the Thunder seemed stunned and discombobulated on both ends of the floor.
