REACTION: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has “unstoppable” first half vs Cavs

The OKC Thunder entered Wednesday looking for a season sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers. After dispatching the Cavs in Cleveland via a double-digit comeback in the final two minutes of the contest at the end of October, the Thunder welcomed Cleveland to town to finish off their two-game season series as cross-conference foes. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an “unstoppable” half.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have seen Shai Gilgeous-Alexander etch his name into the list of Superstars across the association over the last year. However, the 2023-24 season got off to a bit of a slower start for the All-NBA guard.

A clunker against Denver, a sputter against New Orleans, and a lack of free throws have raised some eyebrows. On Wednesday against the Cavs to wrap up the OKC Thunder home stand, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander only needed a half of basketball to show he still has it.

The OKC Thunder saw Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted 23 first-half points to go along with his four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Still, the OKC Thunder star only got to the line for three attempts in the half while scoring all ten of his buckets inside the arc.

Gilgeous-Alexander missed just one shot in his first 17 minutes of action. This led the OKC Thunder faithful to spew excitement all over Social Media.

The OKC Thunder will look to carry this double-digit halftime lead all the way through the second half to capture a solid win to send off the home stand.
