Josh Giddey is under investigation by the Newport Beach Police Department over Allegations made against the OKC Thunder guard on Social Media.
Early Thursday morning, a social media post went viral claiming Josh Giddey was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a minor. The following day, the OKC Thunder made Josh Giddey available at practice for a post-practice media scrum. Giddey was asked about the viral post, to which he said “no comment” twice.
That same day, Mark Daigneault was asked about the allegations, where he also offered no comment on the matter.
After practice wrapped up on Friday, the NBA announced that they have launched an investigation into the allegations. While his game status felt up in the air, not only did Giddey play on Saturday, but Mark Daigneault offered a bit more clarity on the reason why Giddey was in the starting lineup.
Mark Daigneault informed the media this is now a league matter, and the ball is in their court on his playing status. It is unclear how the NBA will respond to the newly launched investigation by the Newport Beach Police Department. Currently, Giddey is still listed as active for tonight’s game against Minnesota.
