Throughout his first two seasons with the OKC Thunder, Cason Wallace established himself as a rising star backcourt talent in the association with untapped potential as both a lockdown defender and a lights-out sniper from deep.

During these early stages of year three, the former skill set still seems to be well intact, as he's been an absolute pest in the passing lanes, swiping away a league-leading 2.7 steals a night, while boasting an elite defensive rating of 105.9.

The latter, however, was somewhat lacking right out of the gates, as he was cashing home on an abysmal 28.6 percent of his three-point attempts over his first four games played, a stark contrast from his career clip of 38.9 percent coming into 2025-26.

Fortunately, since this rough start, it appears Wallace has pulled a 180 in the long-range shooting department and reverted to his old ways of success during these last few outings. Naturally, this has only led the Thunder to become all the more dominant along the way.

Thunder guard Cason Wallace finally finding groove from beyond the arc

Logging 26.0 minutes per game over their last three contests, Wallace finds himself dropping sensational averages of 12.3 points, 1.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.3 steals while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and an insanely efficient 58.3 percent from deep.

It should come as no surprise that, throughout this stretch, the 21-year-old is registering a stellar +8.7 plus-minus rating to go along with a net rating of 15.1.

However, most important of all is the fact that this already electrifying Thunder team has somehow found a way to level up along with Wallace.

Prior to these past few games, Oklahoma City was still undefeated at 5-0, though struggled in several key areas of play, particularly on the offensive side of the ball such as three-point percentage (second-worst mark at 28.8) and points per game (ranked a middling 15 at 118.2).

With the guard's recent surge, the Thunder have seen their production skyrocket in both categories, cashing in on 40.0 percent of their long-range attempts as a team (eighth-best mark) and leading the entire league in points per game through this stretch with an average of 130.0 while besting their opponents by an average margin of victory of 23.0 points during this 3-0 span.

Just when people were beginning to think this OKC squad may have some sort of crack in their armor, they've found a way to quiet this narrative. In this case, Cason Wallace's resurgence from deep has been a driving force in flipping the proverbial switch.
