The OKC Thunder have endured quite a tough schedule of late, as they've squared off against four legitimate playoff threats over their last five outings, three of which came against serious title contenders.

Sunday night, however, the ball club met arguably their biggest match of the 2024-25 season as they played host to the Boston Celtics in a must-watch battle of the juggernauts.

Of course, despite their status as reigning champions and the early double-digit lead they accumulated, the outing finished as so many have this season: With a Thunder win.

Oklahoma City's 105-92 comeback victory not only gave the franchise their 30 win on the year but their 15 straight, a streak that currently leads all teams in the league.

At this point, it's undeniable that OKC is the hottest team in the association as we make our way through the beginning stages of January, and, following Sunday night's bout, Celtics star Jaylen Brown couldn't help but give the squad their flowers.

Jaylen Brown says OKC Thunder are 'rolling' after Celtics loss on Sunday

“OKC is rolling right now. We had an opportunity to kind of come on their home floor, get a W. Thought in the first half we executed well. Second half, just not good enough," Brown said.

As Brown alluded to, the Celtics "had an opportunity" to snap Oklahoma City's win-streak while simultaneously extending their own to four straight.

Right out of the gates, it seemed like this could have been a realistic outcome on the night, as Boston ended the first two quarters up 65-55 while holding the Thunder to a mere 41.7. percent shooting from the floor.

Through this stretch, Brown found himself leading the charge with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor.

However, the C's fumbled the bag in the final half of regulation, as OKC stormed back with vengeance by outscoring them 50-27 while holding the All-Star to an astonishing 0 points thanks, in large, to a critical matchup switch with Luguentz Dort serving as his primary defender.

Despite his putrid late-game showing, Brown remained classy and professional with his postgame rhetoric, as he not only pinpointed how hot the Thunder have been over the past month and change but, also, went as far as to shout out their overall physicality as a collective and highlighted how that, in particular, set the tone for the second half of action.

With this win, Oklahoma City is now one shy of tying for the 25-longest streak of all time and are five away from thrusting themselves into the top-five.

More importantly, however, they are officially seven wins separated from the second-seeded Houston Rockets (23-12) and are in total command of the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
