The Gonzaga Bulldogs product fits the modern NBA big man role nicely. He's long and athletic and is more than capable of shooting the ball from anywhere on the floor.
For his career, Holmgren has averaged 16.3 points per game on 52.1 percent field goal and 37.3 percent three-point shooting. Yet, he looks even more lethal in 2025-26.

Holmgren is currently shooting right around 40 percent from beyond the arc. He's also shooting just under 56 percent on his field goal attempts.
Sure, it is quite early in the season, and there are no guarantees he will be able to maintain such impressive rates. His production should not be ignored, though, as Holmgren is flashing signs of his true potential.

According to Basketball Reference, Holmgren's true shooting percentage currently sits at over 70 percent this season. Meanwhile, his overall PER (player efficiency rating) is above 21.
When it comes to Holmgren's production, the eye test is also important. He seems to have improved when it comes to creating his own looks from the field. When a teammate sets him up for a shot, Holmgren is taking advantage and finding the bottom of the net on a consistent basis as well.
Holmgren, who is taking just under 12 field goal attempts per outing, is looking to score at a fairly aggressive level. His offensive approach suggests an increase in both overall confidence and comfort level in the NBA.
At just 23 years old, it is becoming clear that the big is taking a huge step forward in his NBA development.
The only true question mark with Holmgren is his ability to stay healthy. He's already dealt with injury trouble at times in his career.
If Holmgren can avoid letting injuries become too much of an obstacle, he will likely establish himself as a superstar sooner rather than later.
