Russell Westbrook may find himself gearing up to play out his debut season with the Denver Nuggets, his sixth team since entering the NBA 16 years ago, but his name and all-time legacy will forever be linked to the OKC Thunder.

The future Hall of Famer spent 11 seasons with the organization from 2008 to 2019 and became arguably their greatest player along the way.

From his eight All-Star nods and 2016-17 MVP to his consistent impact toward winning basketball, Westbrook became a true legend of the game and, perhaps more importantly, in the Sooner State while donning the orange, blue, and gold threads.

Though he may be five offseasons removed from his departure from the franchise, and is now entering his age 35 season which is generally considered to be in the twilight years of a pro baller's career, the size 15 footprint he left out in Oklahoma City is one that seemingly has had a long-lasting impact on its residents.

This sentiment seems to have been strengthened quite considerably during a recent post-practice media session with Westbrook, as he and new Nuggets teammate, Trey Alexander opened up about how the point guard's time with the Thunder has helped them quickly form a deep relationship with one another.

During the post-practice session, the veteran was accompanied by rookie, Trey Alexander, which he described as a way for the youngster to get a first-hand look at "one of the best" to speak to the media.

When Westbrook was asked if his new two-guard running mate asked him a lot of questions behind the scenes, Alexander chimed in by acknowledging that he does, noting that he's been an admirer of the triple-double king since his days on the Thunder.

During the interview, he even revealed that he has a picture of them both from when he was just a 9-year-old kid growing up in Oklahoma City.

While reacting in awe to the revelation, Westbrook revealed that these roots have helped them grow close to one another during their short times with the Nuggets.

"OKC. That's how we connect right there, me and my boy Trey," Westbrook said.

On top of their connection to Oklahoma City, Tuesday night both Westbrook and Alexander will find themselves suiting up alongside one another as Denver plays host to the Thunder for preseason game No. 4.

Talk about a full-circle moment for both the OKC legend and Loud City native!
