In Monday night's primetime win against the Nuggets, OKC Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reminded everyone who the league's top dog is.
He sealed the victory with two clutch threes in the final 14 seconds to send Denver packing, finishing with 35 points, 15 assists, nine rebounds, and zero turnovers.
As if he hadn't said enough with his play, Shai dropped one of the coldest lines in recent memory during his postgame presser.
"I have the answers to the test, but I gotta see the questions first," the reigning MVP said when asked about his game plan ahead of hitting game-winning triple.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reminds NBA of who he is
Shai's chilling one-liner can be summed up in one simple message: no matter how you guard him, he'll always find a way to beat you.
This philosophy was on full display on Monday night.
Shai saw double team after double team as the Nuggets desperately tried to slow him down. His response was a career-high 15 assists, as he continuously punished Denver by finding open teammates.
Once the double teams sank deeper into the paint as they anticipated drives, he responded with the aforementioned back-to-back threes in the closing seconds of the ball game. The buckets sent the Paycom Center into a frenzy that echoed all throughout social media for the rest of the night.
This kind of shot selection is somewhat new to SGA's arsenal, as Thunder fans are used to seeing him elect to pressure the rim or settle for mid-range jumpers in the final seconds of games.
But the reigning MVP now has four clutch perimeter daggers in his past three contests, dating back to a late three-pointer at Madison Square Garden, and he is letting the league know that he officially has all the answers in crunch time.
Past two Thunder games are a devastating sign to fellow title hopefuls
The Thunder are no strangers to the playoff atmosphere. They are well aware that basketball becomes a half-court game in May and June, and games often come down to who can make the final shot under pressure.
With the point guard's recent clutch perimeter success, OKC has unlocked a weapon that it hasn't previously displayed until recently.
SGA's newfound ability to hit threes under pressure makes the Thunder nearly unstoppable within the last minute of games. The superstar can drive, stroke it from beyond the arc, or settle for a mid-range. If he gets pressured, he now has numerous kick-out options that are capable of punishing double teams.
Oklahoma City has proven in recent games that it has developed methods of beating opponents it lacked last year, and Gilgeous-Alexander is at the heart of that shift.
He is using the final leg of the regular season to put opposing teams on notice.
The final verdict: there is simply no way to beat him anymore, no matter the tactic they choose to implement.
He officially has too many tools in his proverbial toolbox.
To perimeter defenders he will inevitably encounter come playoffs, we say good luck to you!
