The OKC Thunder have historically shied away from making in-season shakeups. In fact, GM Sam Presti has even gone on record denigrating such acts, saying that "external solutions always bring with them a lot of risk."

However, at the 2026 NBA Trade Deadline, the storied executive seemed to go against his own philosophies, pulling off a handful of deals before Thursday's 3 p.m. (ET) deadline.

Of the three trades made, the acquisition of Jared McCain is clearly the one that's drawn the most attention, as Oklahoma City managed to land last year's rookie sensation to help give their injury-plagued backcourt a much-needed boost.

Of course, with his addition, along with their several other moves, the Thunder were required to part with a slew of assets, the majority of which were draft capital, to participate in such a busy trade season.

With the deadline now officially in the rearview, perhaps it's as good a time as any to look at the updated collection of picks OKC has coming their way over the next few years.

Thunder also bring on second apron insurance via deal with Jazz

Needless to say, even after their bevy of deals made, the Thunder still have one of the most extensive collections of draft capital in the league.

Underratedly, they also managed to acquire an asset they could theoretically use if and when they cross into the second apron threshold down the line.

By way of trade with the Jazz, Oklahoma City acquired the draft rights to 7-foot-1 Serbian center Balsa Koprivica for cash considerations.

According to The Athletic's Fred Katz, the decision to acquire the big man "could be a big deal" down the road, for teams that enter into the second apron aren't permitted to send cash out in trades, though using the rights of a player who's not in the league (such as Koprivica) is considered "a touching point in any type of trade."

Before the deadline, the Thunder lacked such a forward-thinking resource. With their deal with the Jazz, they've now added yet another valuable piece to their treasure trove of future assets.
