LeBron James officially active vs OKC Thunder as the Lakers deploy new-look lineup
By Rylan Stiles
The Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday Night in Bricktown. The OKC Thunder will look to extend their three-game winning streak, while the Lakers are looking to snap a four-game skid.
Coming into this contest, the Lakers listed LeBron James and Anthony Davis as questionable, a tradition unlike any other this season. However, the suspense on whether the two superstars would play tonight was undercut by Anthony Davis' post-game comments in Minnesota.
Anthony Davis was not shy in tabbing this game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, a "must-win" game. Davis and James have each preached the importance of turning around this season that sees them just one game above .500 after this four-game skid.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis are officially active as the Los Angeles Lakers deploy a new look starting five against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Los Angeles Lakers saw LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Rui Hachimura, Jared Vanderbilt, and Jalen Hood-Schifino appear on the injury report today before being made active for this contest against the OKC Thunder. However, Gabe Vincent remains out and is considering surgery for the Lake show crew.
As part of the Injury Report upgrades, the Los Angeles Lakers have made changes to the first five. LeBron James will be joined by Anthony Davis, Jarred Vanderbilt, Taurean Prince, and Cam Reddish as D'Angelo Russell slides to the bench for the Purple and Gold.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are dealing with a starting lineup change as well, with Josh Giddey (ankle) sidelined after leaving Thursday's tilt early.
In his place, Cason Wallace will step up into the starting five as he has all season when the OKC Thunder have been down a starter. Today marks Wallace's sixth career start.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have made Aleksej Pokusevski and Keyontae Johnson healthy inactive to get down to the 15-active player rule.
The OKC Thunder will be tasked with matching the Los Angeles Lakers' intensity in this contest if they want to continue their winning streak. This is a direct change from where this young Thunder team used to be, flying under the radar and not getting their matchup's best shot. By the Lakers' own admission, that will not happen tonight.
