Tyus Jones
Is Tyus Jones' inclusion on this list rather optimistic? Yes. Does this mean the Thunder should just bypass any pursuit for the highly underrated point guard? Absolutely not.
To be quite frank, it's truly astonishing that the 28-year-old is still available on the open market after the season he just had.
Suiting up for 66 games with his new squad, the Washington Wizards, Jones went on to put forth a career-best campaign, posting highs in virtually every statistical category with averages of 12.0 points, 7.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals all while shooting 48.9 percent from the floor and 41.4 percent from distance.
Proving himself to be one of the best set-up artists in the game, Jones went on to finish with the top assist-to-turnover ratio in the entire association last season (7.35) and, with this, is officially the first player in NBA history to lead the league in such a category for five straight seasons.
While it's safe to assume the veteran will be looking to cash in on this latest campaign by seeking a payday larger than the $14 million salary he played on in 2023-24, should he be willing to take a pay cut for the chance to lead the charge for the second unit of this legitimate championship-hopeful Thunder team, Tyus Jones may prove to be the perfect replacement option for the departed Josh Giddey.
