Jerami Grant

When fans think of Jerami Grant, his time with Oklahoma City is far from the first thing on their mind. While he was solid during his Thunder tenure, he reached a new level after his departure from the team.

In 2016, OKC acquired Grant from the 76ers in a deal that sent Ersan Ilyasova and a 2020 first to Philadelphia. The first traded ended up being All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey.

Grant would have a solid stint with the Thunder, even receiving a Most Improved Player vote in his final season with the team.

Like Steven Adams however, he did not fit in with the deconstruction of the team. Within two weeks of the deal that sent Adams to New Orleans, Grant was dealt as well. He was traded to the Nuggets for a 2020 first-round pick.

OKC did not acquire a whole lot for Grant, but his career would take off once he suited up for the Nuggets. He played amazing for Denver in their postseason run in 2019-20 and would sign a massive contract with the Pistons the following offseason.

He’s averaged right around 20 points per game over the last four seasons as he’s now a member of the Trail Blazers.

As Portland starts a youth movement of their own, led by last season’s third overall pick Scoot Henderson, Grant could be a great trade target for the Thunder.

He would become another strong scoring option alongside Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and add some extra height on the wing.

There is no doubt Grant would fit well with this fun young Thunder team, and it would be a welcome sight to see him back in Thunder threads.
