Paul George

By far the biggest name on this list, a Paul George return to Oklahoma City is not out of the realm of possibility.

With his player option looming prior to the start of free agency, George is a hot commodity in the association. His All-NBA level defense mixed with his adept ability to score makes him one of the best wings currently playing.

His departure from the Thunder is well documented as it was one of the biggest trades of the 2010s. OKC dealt him to the Clippers for Danilo Gallinari, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and a then-record amount of first-round picks, one of which has turned into budding star, Jalen Williams.

If he were to return to the franchise, especially through free agency, it would go down as one of the biggest lopsided trades in the history of the NBA.

He would add even more to the already dominant defense of the Thunder, but additionally would be another scoring option.

The only downside to a trade like this would be a possible hit to the chemistry and flow of the team. Taking the ball out of the hands of Shai and JDub is risky but if PG-13 can play anything like he did during his previous tenure, he could be the final piece the Thunder need.

It's clear that this team is ready to win now and bringing back a player with as much talent as Paul George would cement such a sentiment.

Only time will tell which direction the Thunder will decide to go this offseason. If the trade for Alex Caruso is a sign of what’s to come, we can expect to see some more big moves from OKC’s front office over the next few months.
