Grade the Trade: Horrid proposal sends Thunder ill-fitting forward for Josh Giddey
By Mark Nilon
This summer, the OKC Thunder are one of the most equipped teams in the NBA to make a big splash.
Following their magical 2023-24 campaign that saw them fall two wins shy of the Western Conference Finals, this young and promising Oklahoma City squad is likely looking to strengthen their arsenal and better their odds of claiming the franchise's first-ever title come next season.
Despite having just been crowned the top seed in the Western Conference standings and being the youngest team in league history to win a playoff series, if their latest postseason excursion taught us anything, it's that Mark Daigneault's club still needs some tweaking before they can officially enter into the title favorite conversation.
To many, these tweaks need to be made within their frontcourt rotation, as the Thunder were overpowered by the bigger and stronger Dallas Mavericks in round two.
While this may lead some to believe that Sam Presti and company could look toward adding on new center talents prior to the start of next year's campaign, considering the team's obvious desire to have Chet Holmgren serve as their primary pivot moving forward, perhaps the next logical course of action could be for them to add on a new face to bolster their four spot.
Trade proposal lands Thunder ill-fitting power forward for Josh Giddey
Recently, Bleacher Report's Dan Favale broached the idea of the Thunder partaking in a deal to add on more options to their power forward position and even went on to craft a hypothetical trade that he believes nets them a "workable fit" within their rotation.
