OKC Thunder vs Houston Rockets Inactives: Lottery Picks in the G League
By Rylan Stiles
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets face off on Wednesday evening in the Toyota Center. Due to the In-Season Tournament, each side has seen more rest than is typical in an NBA December stretch.
Neither team has played since Saturday, marking three days' rest from their last tilts. The Oklahoma City Thunder survived a rollercoaster game that featured the Bricktown boys blowing a 20-plus point lead, surviving a 30-0 run, and winning by two possessions.
The Houston Rockets dropped a road game to the Los Angeles Lakers their last time out, falling by ten in LaLa Land. Houston continued a troubling road trend, dropping their record away from the Toyota Center to 0-8. However, the Rockets counteract that with an 8-1 home record.
OKC Thunder vs Houston Rockets inactives: Each side missing Lottery Picks on G League assignment.
Given the nature of the off days, both teams walk into this contest relatively healthy. The Oklahoma City Thunder only list three players on their injury report: 11th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft Ousmane Dieng, with two-way forwards Keyontae Johnson and Lindy Waters III as out on G League assignments.
While the Houston Rockets have assigned the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Amen Thompson, to the NBA G League as the lottery pick point guard is rehabbing from an ankle injury.
20th overall pick Cam Whitmore, Nate Hinton, and Jermaine Samuels Jr, are all with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers as well.
The Rockets will also miss Jock Landale in this contest, as he sits out due to an illness. Forward Tari Eason is tabbed as questionable due to an illness. Victor Oladipo is also out due to an injury he sustained last season.
This will be an interesting matchup as the OKC Thunder (13-6) square off with the Houston Rockets (8-9).
