Luguentz Dort: Way too low

2K25 Rating: 80

When it comes to a team as deep as the Thunder, it's hard to find any real extremes in one way or the other when it comes to these 2K ratings -- all of their talents sport an inherently solid grading.

Still, there appear to be some players who just aren't getting the respect they deserve, and one such example is Luguentz Dort, especially considering the type of year he just had.

Though arguably the most under-appreciated defender among media pundits, the 25-year-old has earned a reputation among his peers as being one of the most difficult matchups to play against.

This past season, 46 percent of his minutes were spent guarding the highest-usage player within an opposing team's lineup, a mark that ranked at the top of the league, and saw plenty of success stories with such defensive sets throughout, including holding Brandon Ingram to averages of just 14.3 points per game on 34.5 percent shooting during OKC's first-round bout against NOLA.

On top of his excellence on the less glamorous side of the ball, Dort has managed to turn himself into a truly reliable long-range sniper, as he cashed in on 39.4 percent of his attempts from distance while hoisting roughly 60 percent of his total shots from beyond the arc on the year.

There's a strong case to be made that the soon-to-be sixth-year pro is just as impressive and intense of a two-way contributor as Alex Caruso (rated 82), though, due to the bevy of snubs he's been on the receiving end of during several All-Defensive Team voting processes, he lacks the accolades to prove it.
