The OKC Thunder may not have played basketball in nearly five months, but the franchise has still found itself being thoroughly represented this summer during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Team Canada, in particular, has been chock full of Oklahoma City talents who have been making their way through the worldwide tournament.

The roster is headlined by beloved fan-favorite wing Lu Dort and, of course, superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and the team as a whole is currently boasting a 3-0 record and is heading into a crucial quarterfinals matchup versus Team France.

Though they may not be undefeated like Canada, Victor Wembanyama has helped guide the home-country squad to a respectable 2-1 mark and, now, is two wins away from advancing to the Gold Medal round for the second-straight Olympic games.

Following their latest triumph over Team Spain, while taking part in a recent sit-down with NBC's Mike Tirico Gilgeous-Alexander discussed his optimism about Team Canada's chances of coming away from Tuesday's quarterfinals, as well as whomever they could face afterward, victorious, noting that "we'll be ready" for whatever comes their way.

Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hypes up Team Canada

Behind Gilgeous-Alexander's 20-point performance and the entire club's incredibly gritty efforts, Team Canada finished their August 2 bout against Spain with a hard-fought final score of 88-85.

With this, they serve as the sole holders of top-rank in Group A.

If they were to best France during their upcoming face-off -- something the Thunder star seems quite confident in their odds of doing so --, many expect them to see Team USA (who are slated to face Brazil in their own quarterfinals contest) in their subsequent outing.

Should this end up being the case, the vast majority of fans and experts believe it will be one of the more challenging bouts for the United States (who are also undefeated at 3-0), with ESPN's Brian Windhorst going as far as to say that the surging Canadian squad "matches the way Team USA plays."
