Alex Caruso brings in veteran presence

Alex Caruso has been through all levels of NBA basketball in his career, going from unheralded games in the G-League to NBA Finals games. With that kind of experience, Caruso brings in a presence that exemplifies hard work and perseverance across the team.

Caruso is 30 years old and will be joining a Thunder squad full of young players who have never experienced the highs he has before. The seasoned wing can inject the team with a much-needed boost in the locker room as someone who can be a big brother for most on the team.

Caruso will only be one of the few players in their 30s in the Thunder locker room, making him one of the oldest players on the roster. For a squad that has been one of the youngest throughout the league in the past few seasons, the Thunder has added a crucial veteran piece.

Attached to an expiring contract, Caruso could sign with the Thunder long-term after six months of action, and, at the moment, he is a no-brainer for a new deal once all the presumptions of him come to fruition.

Caruso’s addition has been likened to the addition of Andre Iguodala to the Golden State Warriors. It could very well lead to a similar level of success at some point in the future. Until then, the Thunder have a lot of work to do to reach their championship potential.
