7 Free agents who should be on Thunder's wish list
By Tyler Watts
3. Tobias Harris
Joel Embiid is the only player on the 76ers with a guaranteed contract for next season. They kept cap space open to chase a third star this summer. Tyrese Maxey is a restricted free agent, and Philadelphia will not let him get away. Expect them to try to make a massive splash on the open market, but doing so means cutting ties with Harris.
The 6’8 forward is on a $39.2 million expiring contract. He will likely need to take a pay cut, but Harris continues to be a crucial role player. The 31-year-old can score, handle the ball, rebound, create shots, and space the floor. Harris has some defensive versatility and is capable of fitting on any roster.
The Thunder would have a massive starting five if they signed Tobias Harris. Harris would play the four next to Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren in the frontcourt. The 31-year-old adds playoff experience too. He has 55 postseason games under his belt and that number will grow this season. Harris could be a key addition for a contender in free agency.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have a realistic shot at signing Tobias Harris if they decide he is the best fit for their roster. They may decide to try to catch a larger fish, but the odds are significantly lower.
