1. Paul George

George has a player option for the 2024-25 season at $48.7 million. The 33-year-old has been healthy this season but played in just 189 total games in his first four years with the Clippers. He is extension-eligible, but the two sides have not worked out a long-term contract.

George wants another massive deal and will likely opt for free agency this summer. The 6’8 wing just made his ninth All-Star appearance and is proving he can still be impactful on both ends of the floor. Multiple teams will be interested including the 76ers and Thunder.

PG-13 spent two years in Oklahoma City playing next to Russell Westbrook. The Thunder made the playoffs twice but were bounced in the first round each time. George signed an extension with Thunder before being traded to the Clippers in a move that helped Sam Presti build OKC’s young core. Could George come back to team with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? Do not rule it out.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have money to spend this summer, but it is about finding the right fit. They want their young talent to continue blossoming, but it is time to become a true title contender. How can the Thunder maximize their roster? Sam Presti is one of the best general managers in the NBA, so stay tuned to see what he can make happen this summer.
