2. Luguentz Dort

Dort continues to improve as he settles into his optimal role. The 24-year-old went undrafted in 2019 and was a fantastic find by the franchise. He quickly became a starter and is a crucial 3-and-D wing for the Thunder. They need a perimeter stopper if they plan on contending for a championship, and Dort fills that hole.

The 6’3 wing is averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 28.4 minutes per game this season. He has made 44.0 percent from the field and 40.1 percent on his 3-point tries, which are both career-highs. Dort is no longer scoring 17 points per game, but his efficiency has improved as the team climbed the standings.

Dort signed a five-year $82.5 million extension and has three seasons remaining on the deal. He is their second-highest-paid player for the 2024-25 campaign behind only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. If the Thunder are trying to match salary in acquiring a star, Dort will almost certainly be the package.

Luguentz Dort is transforming into the 3-and-D wing that every contender needs. Oklahoma City does not want to part with him, but they might have to if they plan on landing another marquee talent. Dort still has not reached his peak. Expect other teams to be interested, but the Thunder are only trading him in a blockbuster.
