Ousmane Dieng's flashes

For someone as young and raw as Ousmane Dieng, the game’s speed would go slower and slower as reps piled up.

Dieng, once again, showed his development in the 20 minutes he played on the court. Dieng posted 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field. He also added four assists and two rebounds, playing primarily as the center in lineups.

Still the second youngest payer on the roster, Dieng showed great flashes. He was strong and decisive every time he drove to the rim, found his spots in the court very well, and was incredibly connected on both offense and defense.

While there is still much room for improvement, the Frenchman’s flashes should come more often now that injuries have left a hole in lineups. Dieng should pounce on these minutes as the Thunder continue to rise en route to the playoffs.

Dieng is one the few players in the Thunder with length, standing at 6-foot-10 with great handles, verticality, and serviceable shooting.

He has only played 63 regular season games so far across two seasons. His reps should compound, and his improvement should be even more visible as his career with Thunder continues.

Dieng’s development is one to be very excited about.
