3 biggest takeaways from the first month of OKC Thunder basketball
Other guys filling their duties
In order for the OKC Thunder to be special, it will take more than just two or three guys to carry the cudgels and put the team over the hump. Good thing for the Thunder, they have filled up the roster and dependable guys willing to play their roles and effectively to lift the team early this season.
The likes of Isaiah Joe, Cason Wallace, Kenrich Williams, and Jaylin Williams have proved to be the role players the team needs for their run this season.
Joe has been scorching from deep, averaging 14 points per game on 55 percent shooting from the field and an outstanding 54 percent shooting from the three-point line (on about seven attempts per game) in his last seven games of November. His shooting has continuously impacted the game incredibly for the OKC Thunder, leading to wins.
Cason Wallace has been incredible, too, on both ends of the floor, highlighted by his incredible defensive display against Stephen Curry in their baseball-style series against the Warriors in November.
Kenrich Williams proved to be the stabilizing force once again for the team since he returned, and so was Jaylin Williams off the bench.
This team is not composed of merely x amount of core players. OKC Thunder is a bunch of guys who play together and play the right way. It’s only a matter of time for their potential to be fulfilled.
