Dion Waiters hits free agency

If you spent much time watching the Oklahoma City Thunder this past season you likely witnessed Dion Waiters make some of the greatest and worst plays you’ve ever seen. His play was unpredictable to say the least. Some nights he looked like he deserved to be starting for the Thunder, and other nights you were reminded why it was that he came off the bench. Then the postseason started, and Waiters looked like a totally different player.

Waiters played some very solid basketball on both ends of the floor during Oklahoma City’s playoff run. His decision making improved greatly, his shooting percentages went up and his defensive focus improved noticeably. This improvement helped make him a possible target for a few teams during this year’s upcoming free agency.

Right now Oklahoma City has shown no intention of letting Waiters leave, but there is the possibility that another team could be willing to take a chance on him for more than the Thunder is willing to pay. If that ends up being the case, here are the Top Five possible replacements that the Thunder could sign during free agency.
