Welcome to Views from OKC, Thunderous Intentions’ daily roundup of the best OKC Thunder stories across the web.
New to Views? Glad to have you here, and I hope you’ll make this a daily destination. Well, let’s get started!
Thunder and Cavs tipoff Sunday afternoon specials
“After getting back into the win column, the Cleveland Cavaliers face a more formidable test against the Oklahoma City Westbrooks Thunder. For a Cavs team that ranks dead last in transition defense, this game will test their focus and effort as they try to slow down one of the league’s most deadly transition players.”
The best part of ringing in the New Year is the return of Sunday games on ABC. They’re officially back, and the first one is a doozy. Even without Enes Kanter I fully expect the Thunder to contend against the defending champions. Cleveland is struggling without JR Smith while Oklahoma City is on a three-game win streak and coming off two days rest. They are 2-0 playing on two days rest this season 🙂

Sports Illustrated Western Conference midseason grades
“SI.com’s grades are determined by first-half performance relative to preseason expectations, taking into account health-related issues, signings and trades made since the start of the season, as well as the impact of major off-season moves. Significant injuries to star players, especially those with multi-year implications, are also considered in the grading process.”
Sorry, I didn’t want to spoil what they had to say about the Thunder. 1) It was far too long and 2) Give Ben Golliver some love and check out his grade for every team. I will tell you this, you’ll be happy with Oklahoma City’s grade. Sure there are times when we get frustrated, but overall this team is destroying expectations.

There it is! I’ve been waiting for Kanter to make light of his injury on Twitter. Since the season has started he has been fairly tame on the website. Frankly it sucks. Now that he’s hurt he has more time to dedicate to the craft aka take shots at KD.
We celebrate Dion Waiters here at Thunderous Intentions. I’d hope you join us in congratulating Mr. Waiters on his recent success.
