March 2nd: Welcome to Views from OKC, Thunderous Intentions’ daily roundup of the best OKC Thunder content across the web.

New to Views? That’s a shame because we’ve been rocking all season with daily hot Thunder takes. At least you are here now 🙂

Oklahoma City travels to Portland for a division battle

“For the Blazers, Evan Turner (fractured right hand) and Festus Ezeli (left knee rehab) are out and Tim Quarterman is on assignment in the NBA Development League. For Oklahoma City, Victor Oladipo (back spasms) will not play.”

Victor Oladipo is like a best friend who is supposed to be at your 21st birthday party but is forced to miss because of a dumb-but justified-prior commitment. You’re still going to have fun without them, but with them? Things just got brazy. When Oladipo finally ditches that prior commitment and returns the Thunder are going to be set up to make a run in the playoffs. Oh and the game tonight? 108-102 Thunder win.

The true history behind Russell Westbrook

“So they did. For generations. One became a cowboy like Roosevelt did following his wife’s death. Another skipped out on work for months at a time to go camping (like Roosevelt did…DURING HIS PRESIDENCY). Finally, Randall’s great-grandson Russell was born. Never before had a descendant of Randall Westbrook so capably accepted the Roosevelt-inspired mantle (again, minus the racism and colonial greed).”

This piece is absolutely brilliant. I mean doesn’t it make sense for Russell Westbrook to be a direct descendant of Teddy Roosevelt? Roosevelt was the most stubborn President in US history, Russ is the most stubborn basketball player in NBA history. Roosevelt ran America well despite serious flaws, Russ runs the Thunder well despite serious flaws. My sources tell me this story is true.

It was only a week and a half ago when I talked about Russ being the greatest father ever. Well now we get to see him play that role in real life. The Westbrook’s child is going to be the best thing to happen in 2017 simply so we can see how Russ would dress another human. But seriously congratulations to Nina and Russ, you both will be awesome parents.

I didn’t address this the day after it happened and it’s the worst mistake I’ve made since Views became a thing. Until Future came along with his two albums, Migos was all the talk in the rap game for their album “Culture.” The fact that Westbrook was on stage with Migos means that Russ is a representative of the Culture aka Migos gonna make sure Russ wins the title this year. Let me believe.
