5 Best Games of Kevin Durant vs. LeBron James Rivalry
By David Ramil
January 23, 2010 – OKC Thunder at Cleveland Cavaliers
Final Score: Cleveland 100, OKC 99
Kevin Durant Statistics:
34 Points (10-of-25), 10 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 2 Steals
LeBron James Statistics:
37 Points (9-of-19), 9 Rebounds, 12 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block
The Cavs were led by a young James and an aging Shaquille O’Neal (finishing with 22 points). Cleveland took an early 10-point lead but KD was able to lead the team back to within 1. But James, O’Neal and the Cavs would extend the lead to 13 at the half and keep it until midway through the third quarter when a Russell Westbrook free throw gave the Thunder their first lead of the game. They’d trade the lead through the fourth quarter and were up, 96-95, with just 56 seconds left to play. A 3-pointer from Daniel Gibson and free throws from James would seal the game, despite a last second 3-pointer from Durant. A back-and-forth affair that was a show of incredible talents.
