Dale Ellis

In order to complete this top five list. I had to go back to the eighties and steal some a couple of guys from the Seattle SuperSonics. The first player, Dale Ellis, was a bona fide scoring machine whilst in Seattle. In his four and a half years up North, Ellis posted career averages of just over 23 points per game while shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc. His efforts ultimately culminated in a steller 1989 season that saw Ellis become an All-Star, win the Three-Point Contest, and get voted onto the All-NBA Third Team.

While he’ll go down as a mostly under-appreciated star back in his day, Ellis was a genuine scoring machine and established many records in Seattle that wouldn’t be broken for three decades (see Durant, Kevin). He deserves a spot in this top five and possibly on a list of the twenty best shooting guards of all-time.
