Round Table Discussion: OKC Thunder at a Crossroads
By David Ramil
Some people believe the loss is a painful reminder that this team will never compete for a championship? Overstating things or is this right on track?
Hallett: Certainly overstating things. Lets not forget that the Warriors got blown out by the Blazers and in turn the Warriors blew out the Spurs and Cavs. This is normal in an NBA season. As long as the Thunder get it together at the right time, this team has the talent to compete for a championship.

Hixon: Overstating things. They may never win a title, but I don’t think you can say they won’t compete for one given a healthy Westbrook and Durant.
Barbee: I believe that Oklahoma City will compete for a title again soon. If Durant re-signs the Thunder will always be a top-tier team, but I don’t think this year’s Thunder is title-worthy.
Ramil: I hate to be “that guy” but this has happened too often to overlook. At some point, you have to understand the reality that the team as currently constructed will not win a title. Whether it was injury, bad luck or a combination of both, it’s not likely to happen. They will likely go down in history as the best team to never win it all.
Woods: The team has been unlucky at the most inopportune times. At the end of the day, it appears that this team will mentioned with the Jazz, Sonics, Bucks and others as one of the best teams not to win a championship, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
