Bullish Shade:

After weeks of the OKC Thunder stuck in the eye of the shade storm this week their counterparts around the league were far more active in this segment.

Life in Chicago is anything but smooth with obvious issues between ownership, management, coaching, and players.  At season start it seemed logical to believe Hoiberg would be among the coaches in the hot seat. After all the Bulls aren’t the type of organization who misses the playoffs in successive seasons.

Last season star Jimmy Butler called out Hoiberg, but they had apparently resolved their issues. Prior to Dwyane Wade joining the Bulls, there was talk of a rift with Butler, but again that thought was laid to rest when news surfaced Butler was among those who called Wade to get him to join the Bulls and come home to Chicago.

So, when the two stars called out their younger teammates and seemingly hinted Hoiberg had lost the room it was clear they had joined forces.

And, while this scribe has made no bones about my opinion Rajon Rondo is a team cancer, he was the one who acted in a manner I expected Wade to in the recent drama.

Following the above events, Wade and Butler were relegated to the bench which appeared to be mandated from above (meaning Hoiberg is the owner/management’s puppet).

News this week also tells of management trying to strong-arm Butler into signing his rookie extension deal or faceless time on the court. He chose to take his chances and won the battle.

But after this big commotion, things have come full circle with Butler once again rumored to be on the trade block. No doubt Wade is wishing he’d never returned to Chicago which has people wondering if his Bulls tenure will be short-lived.

Although the Bulls Shade seemed like the main disruption occurring in the Association it was the figurehead of the league who threw out the most shade this week.
