Domantas Sabonis is a player with heart. He is willing to do whatever it takes to be the best, and is not scared of any challenges that he is faced with. A perfect attribute to fit in with the Thunder’s culture.

Even though he did not have the best rookie season, neither did Nikola Jokic, and he is on his way to be an All-Star next season.

Sometimes, it just takes getting that first season out of your head to dive into your game. With the blood-line that Domas has, he shouldn’t have any issue finding ways to utilize his basketball IQ.

Conclusion:

As the Thunder face what could be the biggest summer in franchise history, Domantas is a big key. Not only was he taken in the lottery of the 2016 draft, the Thunder had to trade a key player in Serge Ibaka to obtain him. So, the expectations will be set very high for the hall-of-famer’s son.

The 6-11 Lithuanian  has a great chance to produce an amazing NBA career. To utilize these opportunities with the OKC organization the onus will be on him, along with trust from the coaching staff. Sabonis as an off-season schedule to develop his game, but will this be enough to help Russell Westbrook sign a long term extension with the Thunder? If he taps into the extraordinary amount of potential he has, it should be a rather easy feat.
