In conclusion:

So, yes, there’s certainly two sides to this tale. Regardless of which side you’re on, the debate needs to end. Now.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Bottom line: this was unequivocally the season of Russell Westbrook. We just witnessed one of, if not the best offensive season in NBA history. Westbrook’s most significant accomplishment this season?

He saved the OKC Thunder. He saved the Thunder fans from what should’ve been the darkest period in the franchise’s short history. Despite losing one of the five best players in the NBA right now, Westbrook kept the OKC Thunder relevant. He kept them competitive (OKC would finish the season with only 8 less losses than last year).

For that alone, regardless of the history, Westbrook gets an A+ for a season grade. Now, we just await the NBA to hand him his justly deserved Maurice Podoloff Trophy for the MVP of the season.

And no, I don’t like Russell Westbrook’s game (seriously, its just an aesthetic preference) , but damn, I respect it.
