Paul George is giving OKC Thunder fans a shoe specifically for them – The PG 1 “Baseline” drops on October 1st.

Remember when a certain small forward used to drop their signature Nike shoes in Oklahoma City Thunder colorways? Those days are finally back folks. Paul George’s first signature shoe came out in early March – since then he’s released seven different colorways. The eighth design, specifically with his new team in mind, drops on October 1st.

Here’s the first look at the new shoe:

So maybe that wasn’t the montage of blue and orange you were expecting. Don’t be alarmed Thunder fans – there is a beautiful arrangement of OKC colors on the sole of the shoe. Here’s a better look at that. The primary grey and beige scheme doesn’t necessarily scream “Thunder,” hence why Nike included an “OKC PG 13” monogram on the outside of the shoe.

More from Thunderous Intentions

As a fan of grey basketball shoes I actually enjoy this fairly simple concept. Grey and beige matches with anything so George can feasibly where these with any uniform. Most importantly, they will do wonders with the Thunder’s new Statement jersey.

Paul George had no reason to give his new city/team a shoe; we have no connection to him just yet. That’s why I love this move no matter how “non-Thunder” the shoes truly are. For George to put the “OKC” on his first ever signature shoe shows that he has some faith in his new team.

Thunder/George/shoe fans will have to wait about two weeks before they can get their hands on the new shoe. According to Sneaker News, it drops October 1st and will be available with Nike basketball retailers across the country.
