After an wonderful offseason of OKC Thunder in the News, we’re finally here to talk meaningful basketball.

We made it. We really made it. No matter how many times you tried to convince yourself that Paul George and Carmelo Anthony couldn’t possibly be on the Oklahoma City Thunder – unless we’re all in some crazy vortex – tonight solidifies the much anticipated OK3. I’m not going to waste any more time getting to the goods.

Previewing tonight

I present to you over 2000 words about the season opener against the Knicks. Its got everything you could imagine: a breakdown of the offseason moves, segments regarding Enes Kanter and Carmelo Anthony’s respective returns, and of course, analysis on the keys to getting a Thunder win. It’s all brought to you by Thunderous Intentions’ own Tamberlyn Richardson.

"What is not up for debate is the triumvirate of Westbrook, Anthony and George have assembled with a common goal in mind."

“25 Statements made with Extreme Confidence” has a new author

Long term members of Thunder Nation are well aware of the rise of Royce Young and his Daily Thunder blog. Royce’s rise at ESPN has led him away from his brain child, but it hasn’t stopped the site from running his popular preseason post. Shoutout Weston Shepard – I agreed with a lot of his statements, especially the 25th and final one.

"It could be the greatest show south of Oakland. It might devolve into an unmitigated disaster. Either way, the possibilities are spellbinding"

Jump on the Carmelo redemption train now

I’ve said it and I’ll say it again – Carmelo Anthony is going to go off this season. Melo’s got a chip on his shoulder the size of Russell Westbrook – the two are only going to feed off each other. Yesterday Melo spoke up about his feelings with the Knicks organization. Today he’s subbing them on social media. I’m predicting 29 on 10/15 shooting. 5/7 from three, 4/4 from the line.

"Anthony missed the playoffs in his last four seasons in New York after making the postseason during his first three campaigns."

It’s going to be a fun season. Check Thunderous Intentions post-game for player grades and takeaways. Then wake up in the morning for another edition of Thunder in the News.
