Bring the fire

For the unaware, the 50-40-90 club is an elite group of offensive players who shoot at least 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3 and 90 percent from the line. PG13 has a unique opportunity to join that elite group that features just 7 players since its induction in 1980.

Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors was the latest addition to the club.

Last season, PG had career highs in shot attempts (18), field goal percentage (46.1), effective field goal percentage (53.4) and free throw percentage (89.8). In catch and shoot opportunities, George shot 44 percent overall and 42 percent from three. Keep in mind, this was on an average Indiana Pacers outfit who managed to squeeze into the playoffs as the 7th seed.

Check out PG’s season high 43 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers last year. He filled up the box score, shooting 16-33, 6-15 from 3 and added 9 assists, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block.

George will never shoot 33 times in any game this season. However, with Westbrook and Melo on the floor, he will see space like he’s never seen before. I expect George to have a career year this season in terms of effieciency.
