OKC Thunder Best Reserve

A. . SF. Oklahoma City Thunder. JERAMI GRANT

Jerami Grant has really come on the last three games. His freakish athleticism and his improving play show exactly why the Thunder are so high on him. Grant continues to take the ball to the hoop and finished two difficult lay-ups where he had to contort his body mid-air. He deserves all the playing time he is getting. Grant finished with 17 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3PT, 7-7 FT), 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 28 minutes.

Best Opponent

SF. Milwaukee Bucks. GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO. A.

The fact the Greek Freak had a quiet game and still finished with 28 points (9-14 FG, 2-3 3PT, 8-9 FT), 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block in 28 minutes shows how good he is. He didn’t get much help in this game as the Thunder zeroed in on him the entire game. He is a fantastic player, but he needs a jumper that teams have to respect. At the momen, teams will load the paint and coerce him into perimeter play. He made nice shots outside the paint tonight but OKC was giving him that all game.

Final Thoughts

This is the Oklahoma City team that I envisioned, a defensively stout unit that can score with the best teams in the league. The Thunder must now build on this and search for consistency. We are only six games in and there is still a lot of room for improvement, but I like where they are going. The Thunder now head home in preparation for the Boston Celtics  on Friday in what should be another good test.
