SACRAMENTO, CA – NOVEMBER 25: Lou Williams /

A roster blow-up on the horizon?

The Los Angeles Clippers are a team on tilt. With injuries to core players Milos Tedosic, Danilo Gallinari, Patrick Beverley and Blake Griffin, no-one gives the Clips a chance to make the playoffs. Now is the time to rebuild. Deandre Jordan is the Clippers best trade asset with Minnesota, Milwaukee, Toronto and Washington all showing interest.

However, Oklahoma City must take a look at Lou Williams.

Sweet Lou (as he is affectionately known as) is a professional scorer and gets buckets. This season he is averaging career highs in points (18.7), field goal percentage (45.5) , 3-point percentage (39) and free throw percentage (89). He is a microwave scorer that can generate his own offense.

As currently constructed, OKC’s second unit is full of defensive minded wings who need help scoring. Adding Lou would ensure the scoreboard keeps ticking while the starters rest.

Additionally, it will cause Donovan to scrap the Russell Westbrook – Raymond Felton combination. Having two guards on court who cannot shoot from range makes no sense.

Acquiring Williams means trading either Abrines or Ferguson with a pick. However if OKC want to win now, its a sacrifice they must make.
