Rebounding

Oklahoma City are fifth in rebounding (53.9), 1st in offensive rebounding (11.9), 1st in team rebounds (9.7) but 24th in defensive rebounding (32.2). How is it that a team can position themselves on the offensive glass but struggle to corral rebounds on the defensive end?’

The Thunder allow 9.4 offensive rebounds (12th) and lie 17th in opponent second chance points (12.4). Acquiring more help to further solidify OKC’s defence.

Throughout his career, Bogut has always been a strong rebounder. His big frame and positioning on the block has allowed him to average 2.5 offensive boards, 6.2 defensive boards and 8.7 total rebounds over 13 seasons.

The Thunder’s bench unit averages a poultry 11.9 rebounds (28th) per game and needs help badly inside. OKC deploy Patterson and Grant as the primary rebounders but they struggle dealing with legitimate Centers.

Adding Bogut moves Patterson back to his natural position at four and he can become a complimentary rebounding piece rather than the primary.
