March 30th versus Denver Nuggets

Eight days ago the OKC Thunder played their final divisional game of the season against the Nuggets. The Thunder were reeling having lost to the Spurs the previous night in San Antonio. The game itself was a thriller, as it went to overtime. But, it never should have reached that point.

Will Barton hit a driving layup with nine seconds to go knotting the game at 114. On the final possession Russell Westbrook took a 26′ foot contested three for the win which he missed. That is not an ideal shot for the team since Westbrook has the fourth worst three-point percentage in the clutch this season. Whereas George has the second best.

*Minimum 25 three-point attempts in the clutch

Moreover, although the game was impactful for both teams, the Nuggets played with much more urgency. Denver held a 13 point lead entering the fourth quarter. This meant Oklahoma City had to fight and claw to erase their deficit  just to force overtime. The final margin was four, but Alex Abrines hit a three as the final buzzer sounded.
