Continuing the OKC Thunder player reviews, TI breaks down the seasons for Nick Collison, Kyle Singler and Dakari Johnson.

While OKC Thunder head coach Billy Donovan didn’t call upon Nick Collison, Kyle Singler or Dakari Johnson often the trio  provided reserve minutes and a few thrills during the campaign. Let’s dive into their 2017-18 campaign with a view to the highlights.

Nick Collison

Playing time was short in the final OKC Thunder campaign of Collison’s career, but Mr. Thunder certainly made the most of it.. Collison was given a lot of love from the fans each of the 15 times he stepped onto the floor. ‘

This was especially true  time more so than in April when the fans began giving him the “MVP” chant as he scored a season-high seven points against San Antonio.

Season Stats:

  • 2.1 points
  • 0.3 assists
  • 1.3 rebounds
  • 68 percent field-goal percentage
  • Offensive rating of 98.5
  • Defensive rating of 101.7

Despite not being able to produce at the same level as his prime years fans will always remember everything Collison has given them. And, for as much as he has done on the court, what he accomplished off the court in the OKC community will be equally celebrated.

End of an era:

At 37 years old, Collison decided to hang it up as a player. Odds are that his next contract with the Thunder will be an assistant coach or somewhere else within the organization.

Whatever he decides to do, it’s hard to imagine seeing Collison anywhere other than Oklahoma City. And for his loyalty, the city and fans say, “Thank you.”
