player. 77. . C. Texas A and M. Robert Williams III. 13

Thinking back a few seasons it’s humorous now to recall the twitter war which broke out during free agency when DeAndre Jordan came close to joining the Mavericks. The handshake deal turned out not to be so sacred in the modern-day game.

Cut to present and coincidentally there happens to be a prospect with an eerily similar skillset to Jordan in one Robert Williams. As I mentioned in the previous slide it does feel like this pick (of the two) has more veracity given the potential for Jordan to opt-out and find a team willing to pay him more than the Clippers will.

Robert Williams projects to be precisely the type of player DJ is, so the timing is fortuitous. The one knock on Williams is his lack of motor or habit of losing focus. But, in this scenario with Doc as his coach, it might be the best situation Williams could land in.
