Skills:

Seth Curry like his brother, is super talented offensively. Curry as his usage rate went up, so did his production. Curry proved giving the chance, he can provide great minutes off the bench in the NBA. His three point shooting is great, lighting it up from deep at a 43-percent clip in his career.

His offensive win share his last year in Dallas (2016-17) was a 2.9. For a bench player that is very good production. In his last two years on the court, he had a true shooting percentage of 60-percent. Seth Curry has an underrated ability to drive to the rim and finish, much like his brother.

Weaknesses:

On defense, he can get blown by, and beat. That is not uncommon for an undersized guard. In some defensive systems, a team will be able to hide Curry defensively. If you only looked at Seth Curry’s 2015-16, and 2016-17 seasons in which he finally got the bulk of his playing time, the numbers are not too bad.

Curry had a positive two defensive win share, with a -0.9 defensive box plus minus. Offensively he averages just 3-assists per game which is not bad from the two, but at times he would be thrusted into a point guard role and the passing would need to improve.

Game in Gifs:

No pressure no diamonds, Curry has an ability to nail contested 3’s

Creating for himself shooting off the dribble:

Ability to drive:

Seth Curry also brings swagger and shimmies, like his brother.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Seth Curry made 3-million dollars per year in Dallas. He played great in 2016-17, but due to an injury that wiped out his 2017-18 season, his price tag could be lower as teams look to see how he recovers.

The OKC Thunder can bring Seth Curry even with their tough salary cap situation.

Does Seth Curry fit with the OKC Thunder?

The short answer is yes. Seth Curry can be a young back up point guard with upside. Compared to Raymond Felton, who provided quality minutes for last years OKC Thunder squad. Offensively Curry when healthy is miles ahead of Felton.

Curry can back up Russell Westbrook, or play along side him as the two. The only problem Billy Donovan might run into is the amount of two guards already on roster. With Andre Roberson set to return, Alex Abrines hoping to take that next step, and a young Terrance Ferguson already in the rotation; Curry would actually have to be strictly a back up point guard.

Other possible suitors for Curry:

Again, the short answer is just: Yes. Every team could use what Curry provides off the bench. However, here are 3 teams.

  1. Dallas Mavericks: Dallas has made it known they want to retain Seth Curry.
  2. Golden State Warriors: The Warriors are interested in having biological splash bros.
  3. OKC Thunder

Hopefully for Curry’s sake he can bounce back to 100%. He finally had his career on an uptick before his devastating injury.
