OKC Thunder Best Reserve:

Oklahoma City Thunder. DEONTE BURTON. A. . G/F

Deonte Burton signed a two-way contract with the OKC Thunder before this game tipped off. That left Thunder fans keeping a closer eye on Burton through the course of this summer league clash. He did not disappoint.

The man with no position, Deonte Burton can play anywhere from the two-guard to the power forward position. Burton went for 13-points adding 3-rebounds. However, the real pleasure comes from what does not appear on the stat sheet. Deonte Burton was amazing moving without the ball, always being in the right place. Burton made beautiful cuts to the rim, and spaced the floor nicely.

He gave his teammates a blanket, when they got in-trouble Burton was in the right spot to bail them out. He also put on display some great post moves. Often times, Burton showed soft touch around the basket to compliment his impressive face-up post moves.

Best Opponent:

A. . SF. Brooklyn Nets. THEO PINSON

Theo Pinson led the Nets in scoring with 16-points. The UNC product added 5-rebounds and a pair of blocked shots with a couple of steals. Pinson was the lone bright spot for Nets fans over the course of tonight’s summer league beat down.

Final Thoughts

The OKC Thunder dominated the Brooklyn Nets tonight. However, it was not all sunshine and rainbows. Really, the scoreboard during an NBA Summer League tilt is meaningless. What matters is how each player performs, and the impact that could have in the winter.

For the Thunder, while a win was nice there is still cause for concern. Terrance Ferguson flatly did not show up tonight, or yesterday. For a guy expected to get meaningful rotation minutes for the Thunder come Halloween, he has to do better than a two point outing in July.

The biggest highlight was Hamidou Diallo jumping out of the gym to slam it home. A punctuation mark on a great game for Diallo. The rookie scored 22-points with 8-rebounds, and this jam.
