OKC Thunder Fantasy Flash – Full slate for the boys in blue
A four game week for the OKC Thunder means that fantasy opportunities abound. We have you covered from deep leagues to daily fantasy action.
The more games a team plays in a week, the more valuable the players involved will be in fantasy. For that reason, the OKC Thunder roster is among the more potent in the NBA this week. Their schedule is as follows:
New Orleans Pelicans (Mon. 11/5)
Cleveland Cavaliers (Wed. 11/7)
Houston Rockets (Thu. 11/8)
Dallas Mavericks (Sat. 11/10)
All OKC Thunder players get a bump this week, but we have highlighted a couple noteworthy players as well as an opponent from each matchup. Scorers like Paul George or Dennis Schröder are good picks in points-leagues, but let’s start with a certain Spaniard to keep your eye on.
Alex Abrines
The OKC Thunder caught a glimpse of life with a superior perimeter shooter last Thursday as Alex Abrines poured in 25 points. Abrines followed that performance up with an 8 point effort the next day on 3-8 shooting.
The game was lopsided, and therefore difficult to actually get a read on. The encouraging effort though may make believers out of weekly fantasy gurus looking for cheap scoring.
Russell Westbrook
It may not need to be said Russell Westbrook is a great fantasy option at any given time. There is no better time to mention him though than on a week with a plethora of games.
Beastbrook appears to be in mid-season form, so he is going to rack up plenty of points, boards, and assists. Deploying him this week means that you will collect a plethora of the above.
Jrue Holiday
More from Thunderous Intentions

- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
When talking Pelicans and fantasy, Anthony Davis has to be mentioned. That, or the sudden ascension of Nikola Mirotic.
Somehow, Jrue Holiday is often the forgotten man, though he is playing at a near All-Star level. Great percentages, points, assists, and steals abound for the underrated guard.
Rodney Hood
The Cavs matchup may be the toughest to pinpoint a fantasy option. Larry Nance Jr. may step up following the injury to Kevin Love. However, the closest thing to a go-to scorer on the roster is Rodney Hood.
His volatility makes him a risk in most fantasy settings, but if he can be found cheaply, he may be a difference maker.
Clint Capela
He is not one of the Rockets’ big-name stars, but fantasy managers are quite familiar with the value Clint Capela brings. Especially for owners that have punted free throw percentage, Capela offers huge upside in field goal percentage, blocks, and rebounding.
As such a strong contributor in those categories, he is often underrated in fantasy.
Harrison Barnes
With flashy rookie, Luka Doncic gimpy to start the week, Harrison Barnes is my pick from the Mavs. Injured to start the year, Barnes is beginning to round into game-shape. He does not often contribute across the board, as he is more of a scoring specialist. As he continues to heat up though, he needs to be owned in almost all formats.
Let’s see who shows out for the OKC Thunder on this four game week. If Abrines can step up as a desperately needed perimeter threat, it would be big in both fantasy and reality. Tune in and follow along with us on Twitter @thunderousint
