OKC Thunder in the news: Thunder roll Houston, Westbrook injury update and outfit
OKC Thunder absolutely rolled the Houston Rockets Thursday night, Billy Donovan gives an update on Russell Westbrook and a look at Russ’ flashy outfit as he goes back to the future.
Lucky Number 7
OKC Thunder rolled the Houston Rockets on Thursday night winning 98-80 making it seven in a row. Not only did the Thunder win but they showed how good the defense can be tallying 11 steals to match their season average as well as 4 blocks.
Paul George finished with a game high 20 points to go with 11 rebounds and 6 steals.
The biggest takeaway from the game was the post game interview Paul George game to Roslyn Gold-Onwude as he talks about the team having more and more trust for one another as the season progresses, something an OKC Thunder fan loves to hear.

Russ Injury Update:
Russell Westbrook has now missed a total of 4 games through the first 11 games this year, which for his standard is a lot.
As Russell Westbrook sits with a sprained ankle suffered Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, Billy Donovan was asked if Russell was close to returning in which he replied “I don’t know”
It’s hard to believe the head coach doesn’t know the status on his star point guard but watching the footage below it shows Westbrook is walking with no noticeable limp suggesting he could be back against either the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, or the Phoenix Suns this coming Monday.

This brings me to the next piece of news.
The Outfit:
Russell Westbrook has always been known for his extravagant taste in clothes and he didn’t disappoint when arriving for the game against the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
He was seen with what is being described as a ‘Marty McFly’ look.
Westbrook seems to have the same confidence on and off the court as he was also seen coaching the team during time-outs as they played the Rockets. A welcome sight for Thunder fans as it shows the team is building on continuity, and it’s been showing on the court as they have now won two in a row without the dynamic point guard.

During the game against the Houston Rockets he was just as confident, cheering the team on and even acting as a coach at times.
It’s nice to see the team working together in the absence of such a key player.
