OKC Thunder drop a bad one to the Bulls – Topic: Thunder Podcast
The OKC Thunder dropped a bad one to the Chicago Bulls. OKC Topic: Thunder is here with the recap podcast, though, rain or shine!
Well that was a bummer! The OKC Thunder have buttered their bread this season against bad teams, so you’d have thought the Chicago Bulls would have been as good as sacrificial lambs for this team. But that was not the case.
The Thunder lost to the lowly Chicago Bulls 112-114 last night. You read that right. All of the sins that caused OKC to need a remarkable 25 fourth quarter points from Paul George to get by the (also lowly) Brooklyn Nets a couple nights before came back to bite the Thunder in their collective hind-quarters in this game.
OKC came out slow in the first half. They seemed to be just attempting things for fun. What they did not seem to be doing was trying very hard on defense. The Bulls scored 70 points in the first half. 70. SEVENTY.

The Bulls were the last-ranked offense in the league heading into this game. The Thunder were the first-ranked defense. 70. The Bulls made a lot of wide open jumpers. Credit to the Bulls. The Thunder allowed a lot of wide open jumpers. Blame to the Thunder.
There’s really not a lot happy to say. NBA teams lose sometimes, and that’s fine, but let’s just hope OKC isn’t reverting back to how they were last season – sleep-walking through these games, sleep-losing often.
Let’s hope this loss wakes the Thunder up, because the next four opponents are the Jazz, Pelicans, Nuggets, and Clippers. Now it gets real. Now is the time to see what this team is made of. But it would have been nice to have this one.
