Strengths

3-point shooting

A 39.9 percent career 3-point shooter, Casspi is a reliable sniper form beyond the arc whose been given limited opportunities on championship caliber teams. The Israel forward was a great complimentary piece on the Golden State Warriors last season, shooting 45.5 percent from beyond the arc when setting foot on the floor with Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Casspi is known for his 3-point shoot out with Curry when playing with Sacramento two years ago.

While he’s certainly diversified his game in recent times and is only attempting 0.9 attempts in 12.4 minutes of action, Casspi is left when left alone on the perimeter.

Weaknesses

Defense

Even though the 30 year-old can cover both small forward and power forward positions, he lacks physicality down low to keep bigger forwards out of the paint and is too slow to guard athletic three’s on the perimeter. Casspi isn’t a total turnstile on defense but elite wings get by him without any significant resistance.

While he isn’t a fantastic one on one defender, Casspi is a capable team defender and works well in a solid team system. The Israeli possesses a 98.9 defensive rating on a solid Memphis team ranks fourth overall in defensive efficiency (104).
